Signal Booster Info exists because of a specific frustration: back in 2018 I was standing in a freezing Buffalo driveway just to get one bar of 4G, and when I went looking for help online I found only two things — engineering manuals written for people with a physics background, and shallow review pages put together by people who had clearly never climbed a ladder to mount an antenna.
This page explains the standards this site holds itself to, so you can judge for yourself whether the advice here is worth trusting.
The core commitment
Nothing gets recommended here that hasn’t been personally tested, verified, or deeply vetted in the field.
That is the promise this site was built on, and it is the one that matters most. A booster kit that performs well in a manufacturer’s lab is not the same as a booster kit that performs well in a metal-roofed house a long way from the nearest tower. Where a recommendation appears on this site, it reflects hands-on experience with the hardware or a deliberate, documented review of it — not a spec sheet reworded.
How performance claims are made
- Real numbers over marketing numbers. Signal strength on this site is discussed in dBm — actual measured readings — rather than the bar count on your phone, which is close to meaningless for diagnosis. Where before-and-after figures are given, they describe the conditions they were measured in.
- Manufacturer claims are treated as claims, not facts. An “up to” coverage area printed on a box is a best-case number produced under best-case conditions. Where this site repeats a manufacturer’s figure, it says so and explains what it would realistically mean in your building.
- Conditions are stated, because conditions are everything. Outside signal strength, construction materials, tower distance, and antenna placement change results dramatically. A result reported without its context isn’t a result.
What you will not find here
- No pay-for-praise. No brand, retailer, or manufacturer can buy a recommendation, a rating, or a place on a list. No coverage on this site is sold.
- No guaranteed outcomes. Nobody can promise you a specific number of bars, a specific speed, or a fix for every dead zone. Any page that promises that is selling something.
- No pretending a product works when it doesn’t. Where a piece of hardware underperforms, is poor value, or is the wrong tool for a job, this site says so plainly.
- No hiding the failures. The mistakes are part of the value here. The first booster ever installed for this site’s founding story was mounted with the antenna backward on the wrong coaxial cable, created a feedback loop, and made the signal worse. Expensive lessons get published alongside the clean installations, because the failures are usually what save you money.
Scope — and the limits of it
This site covers consumer and small-commercial cell signal boosters: installation, antenna selection and placement, carrier-specific frequency considerations for the major US networks, and troubleshooting. Coverage here is organized around four pillars:
- Step-by-step installation guides — from locating your nearest tower to mounting indoor and outdoor antennas properly.
- Hardware reviews — boosters, antennas, and cabling, assessed against real-world performance rather than packaging claims.
- Carrier-specific solutions — working with the frequency bands used by the major US carriers.
- Troubleshooting and FAQs — oscillation errors, warning lights, and sudden drops in performance.
Being clear about the limits matters as much as the scope. This site does not design city-wide cellular networks and does not manufacture hardware. It is written from the perspective of a field practitioner who makes consumer and commercial boosters perform for the people using them — not from the perspective of a carrier, a regulator, or a manufacturer.

Accuracy, updates, and corrections
Hardware, firmware, and carrier network configurations all change. A guide that was accurate when published can drift out of date, and this niche drifts faster than most — carriers refarm spectrum, and a band that mattered last year may not matter now.
- Guides published here will be revisited as hardware and carrier conditions change, with material updates made in the content itself rather than quietly patched over.
- If something here is wrong, I want to know. A correction is not an embarrassment; leaving an error up where it can cost you money or a weekend is.
- Corrections that change the substance of a recommendation will be made in the page itself, so the record reflects reality rather than the original guess.
How to flag an error or ask a question

If you are reporting a problem with a guide, the most useful things you can include are your carrier, your rough distance from the tower, your measured dBm reading if you have one, and what your building is made of. Those four details answer most questions before they need a reply.
